Scary Skeleton Poochy
Somebody on Twitter asked what Poochy's skeleton looks like and I couldn't resist drawing it. I liked how this came out, so figured I'd pop it here. :)
Octav1us Kitten
An up and coming gaming YouTuber from the UK who has been doing very well lately: Octav1us Kitten! She mainly focuses on weird and obscure games, and thus is right up my alley!…
Here's a goofy caricature I did of one of my favourite YouTubers, ProJared! He's holding Hydlide, of course!
James Pond: RoboCod
This was a really old sketch of mine that I decided to clean up and finish off. From one of my favourite Amiga games - it's James Pond! A.k.a. RoboCod!
Ice Climbers
I decided to finish up one of my older sketches that I've always liked - a redesign of Nintendo's Ice Climbers!
This year has been the least organised Nintober of all. I entered the month having no idea who I was going to draw, and tend to enter most days without having a definite idea of who I’ll be posting. However, the lack of pressure has really been helpful.

To counter this lack of organisation, I have started keeping records on who I’ve already drawn for Nintober. I find it helpful to see if I’ve neglected a particular console generation, or if I’ve forgotten a game in a series. Having them listed out helps generate new ideas.

So I thought I’d share some results with you! Read on for all the monstrous facts and ghoulish figures!

Which Nintendo Series is the Spookiest?
Absolutely no surprises here, but the Super Mario series smashes this out of the park with 25 Nintober entries to itself. However, this includes all the RPGs, spinoffs, etc.

The Legend of Zelda is 2nd place with 17 entries, with Metroid & Pokémon tied for 3rd place with 12 entries each.

Which Individual Game has the Most Monstrous Showing?

I tend to list the characters by their debut game, so I can see which games are the best represented. In this case we have a three-way tie with four entries apiece!
  1. Metroid (NES)
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
  3. Kid Icarus Uprising (3DS)
Note that I’m not including StreetPass Mii Plaza, which also has four entries, but because the minigames were released individually through DLC over several years, I consider them all separate games.

Which is the Most Terrifying Nintendo Console?

Purely based on the number of entries, the NES smashes into the lead with 25 entries. The 3DS is second place with 18 entries, and third place with 15 entries is another three-way tie between the SNES, GBA and Wii.

The least terrifying is the Switch with only 1 entry, but that’s not fair. The Game Boy Color has only just received its second entry, and the Wii U only has four entries.

Which Was Nintendo Most Spooktacular Year?

2004 is the best represented year so far, with 10 entries across 8 games. Nintendo was a game-making machine back in 2004, pumping out top-quality GameCube and GBA titles in a constant stream.

A few years take second place with 8 entries each: 1986 (Metroid, Kid Icarus, Zelda), 2002 (Wind Waker), 2011 (3DS), and 2012.

The only years with zero entries are any year before 1984… and 1988, which was a weirdly quiet year for Nintendo. They were expanding into foreign markets and developing the SNES and GB, so they hardly released any games. But they did release Super Mario Bros. 3, so we’ll forgive them.

Which Games Have You Missed?

I made two lists: one of series that haven’t been represented at all, and one of games that have been missed. The list is quite long, but you may have noticed I’ve been filling some gaps this week. The wonderful Chibi-Robo. The Zelda Oracles. And I’ve still got some more to come this week!

Without a doubt, the most surprising omission to me is… Metroid Prime! You may see me try to rectify this before the month is done!
  • Watching: Designated Survivor
  • Playing: SNES Classic Mini
  • Drinking: Coffee

Ay! I’m just here to suggest Zekrom as a Smash Trophy!

Hope you do so. I understand if you cannot.

He is awesome. The Black/White games were the last Pokémon games I really loved.
I only tend to create the Smash-style things for Nintober during October. Zekrom isn't really a spooky Halloween monster, so I probably won't include him in that.
Who knows? I doodle all sorts of stuff.

Alright! Thanks, FryGuy!

Just a suggestion.
Would it be ok to draw Zongazonga from Fossil Fighters: Champions?
fryguy64 Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2018  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Awesome! I've been looking for suggestions from the Fossil Fighters series, as I don't have any in Nintober yet. I haven't played the games at all - but this looks like a great suggestion.
It'll be October before I possibly draw it... But I keep a list of suggestions all year round :)

Is Yvetal has been suggested?
fryguy64 Featured By Owner Oct 26, 2017  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
I don't think so. In fact, I think the only Pokémon entries to date have been Ghost types. Except Bittercold, of course.

Can you do the Dark Curse and his monsters from Miitopia?
fryguy64 Featured By Owner Oct 7, 2017  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Miitopia is down as an option for this year, but I haven't decided who to draw from it yet. But I'm considering it :)

The Dark Curse maybe? Cause he's the main antagonist of the game.
