I've been looking forward to drawing this one for a while! Sonic came first in the Top 10 Sega Characters poll, which wasn't a huge surprise, but I had the idea for the layout before the poll ended. I'm rather pleased with how the background came out. More or less what was in my head :)

Pretty cool way for starting with Sega's prime character. The pose and the little details on the road look nice.

Thanks! The road took AAAAGES to texture, but it looked very blank without it. Worth the time invested!

Nice, I really like how you recreated him running through one of the series' iconic checkered "shuttle-loops" in the Green Hill Zone. :) Also nice slightly upside-down perspective.

I also like how you mixed in some of his "classic chubby" design, with his "modern green eyed" design to, even if that wasn't intentional.

(Y'know, as odd as this sounds, there's some insane Sonic fans who get angry whenever Sega releases a game where he has green eyes. Which seems funny to me, because I always liked the green eyes personally.)

It was intentional, kinda like I did with Pac-Man. Some of the newer design elements are just better. I'm not surprised some people balk at the newer design though, as the games just haven't been as good as the classics. It's probably hatred by association.

I think I always wanted him running through a shuttle loop, but the upside-down perspective was a neat twist I really wanted to try out :D

I don't know, I like some of the newer Sonic games regardless, (and some think "Sonic Colors," "Sonic Generations," and such are just as good as the old games) but to each their own, of course.

And yeah, I like that twist you did. :)
