Now this is a confusing character. Pentarou originally starred in one of the Parodius games. It was his father, Penta, who starred in the earlier Konami game Antarctic Adventure and Yume Penguin Monogatari. On top of that, nobody is really sure which penguin it is in half the Konami penguin games (of which there are many).

Dooh, why didn't you include the machine gun he uses in Parodius-games?? It's sucha trademark of him! It would've made him look so badass too...

But he's fine though, like the way you used New International Track 'n' Field-design on him. (-lwl-)^

I'm considering doing Pentarou again as I think this one's a bit boring. I really hate drawing guns :p

However only the colour references were pulled from NIT&F. The rest of the design is from his (and Penta's) other appearances. He's surprisingly consistent ;)

The eyes though seem to be take from NIT&F as well, Parodius had sorta geekier look with those huge white scleras.

But heh, nice to see you consider revamping this. Hope it will turn to be badass!

That carries over into Parodius. There's Pentarou the penguin and Takosuke the octopus, but there are so many penguins and octopodes and not all of them are the same character it gets incredibly confusing.

But Yume Penguin Monogatari was a hilarious game, and since falling into the water inexplicably set your weight bar to full I always called it "Water Retaining Penguin."

Yume Penguin Monogatari is surprisingly difficult for such a friendly looking game! I get pelted with food at every boss :p
